The Components of Financial Planning

;

Retirement Planning:

This is the goal of everyone we meet. We may be able to help manage your existing 401(k). We can help you decide what is best for any old 401(k) and existing IRAs. Is the Traditional or Roth option right for you? We’ll help you set reasonable expectations for taking withdrawals in retirement.

;

Estate Planning:

This covers many aspects of financial planning. Our goal will be to make sure your beneficiary listings fit your wishes and that you have the proper type and amount of life insurance. You will need to see an attorney to establish your will and final documents. We enjoy working collaboratively with attorneys to make sure your account details meet the requirements of your final documents.

;

Asset Management:

Have you come into an inheritance or just have too much money in the bank? We’ll provide the proper management of savings and investments outside of your 401(k) or IRAs to meet your goals and time horizons. We stress the proper registration of your non-IRAs to benefit your survivors.

;

Income Planning

Saving for retirement is everyone’s goal. We’ll show you how to can use the savings you have built over your working years to generate additional income to supplement your Social Security and/or pension.

;

College Planning:

We can offer guidance on the college savings programs like 529 and Coverdale plans.

;

Risk Management:

Risk doesn’t only apply to investments. We can help you choose the proper life insurance to fit your needs. We also offer disability and long-term care. We can provide basic guidance on home and auto policies, but you will need the services of an experienced, qualified property and casualty agent.

;

Income Tax Planning:

From our standpoint, income tax planning can involve the decision between the Roth vs Traditional IRAs, decide which account to take a withdrawal from, and which investments are better suited to be inside or outside of a tax-deferred account like an IRA. You will need a tax professional to prepare your tax returns. We are happy to work with your tax professional.
